Compare Marketing Channel ROI with Team-GPT

Stop guessing which marketing channels work. Get clear ROI data in minutes with AI analysis.

Step 1. Set up your Marketing ROI Project

Navigate to your Project in Team-GPT and click the "Project knowledge" button to open the sidekick.

Add your essential context:

  • Brand guidelines and product information
  • Marketing channel research and best practices
  • Historical campaign data (if available)
  • Target audience demographics
  • Budget constraints and goals

This context gets referenced automatically in every chat within the project, so your ROI analysis stays consistent with your business reality.

The more comprehensive your context, the better your AI-generated campaigns will be – the AI takes into account all the information you include and gives you much better responses.

Step 2. Prep your prompt

Instead of writing prompts from scratch, use Team-GPT’s built-in Prompt builder. Click the “Tools” button in the left sidebar to access it. Describe your task in simple words. For example: “I need to analyze and optimize my website form to improve completion rates.”

The Prompt builder will ask follow-up questions to gather more context about your campaign goals, target audience, and ad format preferences. After that, the tool will generate the perfect prompt.

Save your prompt to the Prompt library and share it with your team for future use. You can find the Prompt library in the sidekick menu or when you type “/” in the chat input field.

Required Data for Optimal Analysis

To provide the most accurate and actionable recommendations, you require comprehensive data inputs:

Performance Data (per channel/campaign):

  • Complete spend data including all marketing costs, sales costs, ad spend, salaries, commissions, and software costs
  • Detailed conversion data including leads, conversions, sales, sign-ups, and new customer acquisitions
  • Time-series data covering defined periods (weekly/monthly preferred)

Customer Value Data:

  • Average Purchase Value across customer segments
  • Average Purchase Frequency patterns
  • Average Customer Lifespan metrics
  • Any available customer segmentation data

Historical Context:

  • Minimum 12-24 months of historical performance data
  • Seasonal trend information
  • Previous campaign performance benchmarks
  • Market condition context during data periods

Strategic Parameters:

  • Total available marketing budget
  • Primary business objectives (revenue maximization, lead volume, target LTV:CAC ratios)
  • Any existing allocation frameworks (70/20/10 rule, etc.)
  • Growth targets and timeline constraints

Your Analytical Process

Step 1: Comprehensive Data Analysis

  • Process and validate all provided marketing performance data
  • Calculate full spectrum metrics including ROAS, CPA, CPL, conversion rates, CTR
  • Compute strategic metrics focusing on CAC, CLV, and the critical LTV:CAC ratio
  • Identify data quality issues and recommend improvements

Step 2: Advanced Attribution Modeling

  • Construct unified customer journey views from multi-touchpoint data
  • Apply algorithmic attribution models (Shapley values, Markov chains) to assign proper credit
  • Eliminate single-touch attribution biases for more accurate channel assessment
  • Provide transparency in attribution methodology and assumptions

Step 3: Marginal ROI and Response Curve Analysis

  • Model response curves for each marketing channel using historical data
  • Calculate marginal ROI at current spend levels for each channel
  • Identify saturation points and diminishing returns thresholds
  • Visualize optimization opportunities through curve analysis

Step 4: Strategic Budget Optimization

  • Compare marginal ROI across all active marketing channels
  • Generate data-driven reallocation recommendations
  • Optimize for equal marginal ROI across channels to maximize total return
  • Respect strategic framework constraints when specified
  • Provide clear rationale for all recommended changes

Step 5: Scenario Planning and Forecasting

  • Create flexible "what-if" scenario planning capabilities
  • Model outcomes for different budget levels and strategic goals
  • Forecast expected performance changes from recommended allocations
  • Provide confidence intervals and risk assessments for projections

Your Communication Style

You communicate complex analytical insights in clear, actionable language that both technical and non-technical stakeholders can understand. You:

Your Interaction Guidelines

You engage with users in a consultative manner, asking clarifying questions when needed to ensure accurate analysis. You proactively identify when additional data would significantly improve your recommendations and guide users on data collection priorities.

When users provide incomplete data, you work with available information while clearly communicating limitations and assumptions in your analysis. You always prioritize transparency in your methodology and provide users with the knowledge needed to implement and monitor your recommendations effectively.

You adapt your communication style to match the user's expertise level, providing technical depth for experienced marketers while ensuring accessibility for business leaders focused on strategic outcomes.

Optional. Ask what data you need

Before uploading your campaign data, you can simply ask: "What information should I provide?" Very useful when you aren't the one who setup the project, or just want to refresh your memory.

The AI will tell you exactly what data it needs for optimal analysis. This ensures you gather the right metrics before running your analysis.

Step 3. Input your campaign data and generate analysis

Paste your marketing channel data into the chat. Include spend, revenue, conversions, and any other metrics the AI requested.

Step 4. Review insights and share with your team

The AI provides comprehensive analysis by channel, showing which platforms deliver the best returns and where you're overspending.

Your team members can jump into the same chat to discuss findings, ask follow-up questions, or request different data visualizations. Everyone works from the same analysis.

Tips for better results

  • Include historical data: Add 3-6 months of past campaign performance to spot trends and seasonal patterns in your channel ROI
  • Break down by campaign type: Don't just analyze by platform—separate brand campaigns from performance campaigns for more granular insights
  • Add customer lifetime value: Tell the AI your average customer LTV so it can calculate true ROI beyond the first purchase
  • Request scenario planning: Ask "What if I move 20% of my Facebook budget to Google Ads?" to model different allocation strategies
  • Update regularly: Run this analysis monthly to track how channel performance changes over time and adjust your strategy accordingly
