Traditionally, art has been a way for humans to express their feelings, experiences, and creativity. Whether it’s painting, sculpture, or music, the human touch has always been an essential part of art. However, AI technologies like ChatGPT and DALL-E 3 are challenging this idea by creating art through mathematical algorithms and machine learning.
To illustrate this point I want to share an example.
When I visited the Guggenheim Museum in New York, I saw an exhibition by the artist Sarah Sze. The Guggenheim’s unique spiral design, with its continuous walkways and no stairs, provided a fantastic setting for her work. Sarah Sze used this space creatively, not only by displaying paintings but also by using projectors to cast images onto the walls and ceilings.
This multi-dimensional experience showed how physical space and artistic vision can come together to create something truly amazing.
ChatGPT art as well as all AI-generated art can be seen as an extension of the artist’s creativity. When artists use AI tools, they are not just letting a machine do the work; they are working together with technology to explore new creative possibilities.
Therefore, ChatGPT art and AI art can indeed be considered real art, especially when it helps to enhance and expand human creativity.
